Harvest Festival

September 16th & 17th, 2017

There is no time like fall on the Farm and Harvest Festival is The Farmers' Museum's biggest event of the year. In addition to exploring a working 19th century farm, tour The Village, where artisans and shopkeepers will demonstrate life before cars, cell phones, and fidget spinners. For this event, there'll be crafts, games, face painting and live music amongst agricultural activities like corn shelling and potato harvesting. Oh, and amazing food - roasted corn, pulled pork, homemade pies and more.


Our Strength Is Our People: The Humanist Photographs of Lewis Hine

September 16th - December 31st, 2017

Immerse yourself in the work of the father of American Documentary photography, Lewis Hine, with this very special exhibit of rare, vintage prints at Fenimore Art Museum. Examine three overarching themes of Hine's three-decade career: the immigrant experience; child labor; and the American worker, culminating in his magnificent studies of the construction of the Empire State Building. This is just one of several temporary exhibits at Fenimore Art Museum this fall.

Baseball Film Festival

September 22nd-24th

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum celebrates the twin traditions of baseball and film. Watch a variety of films that feature baseball as primary or secondary theme no matter the length or genre. Tickets are free, but reservations are required. Museum members can reserve tickets starting September 11th by calling 607-547-0397. Any remaining tickets will be made available to the general public starting September 18th.


Things that Go Bump in the Night

October 20th & 21st, 27th & 28th

Experience The Farmers' Museum during the most haunting time of the year. Join museum guides as they lead you about the shadowy grounds and recount the many mysteries and ghostly happenings that have occurred in the Museum's historic village. At the tour's end, hold your breath for one of Edgar Allen Poe's classics. Tickets are required and this popular event sells out fast!
