Experience what life was like for the typical New York State Civil War soldier by interacting with three re-enacting units: the 125th NY, the 124th NY, the "Orange Blossoms" from Orange County, and the 61st NY from Southern New Jersey and Delaware. See drilling and musket firing demonstrations including mock battles! Learn about medicines used during the War. Tap your toe to Civil War era music and hear a special concert in the Cornwallville Church with the 77th Regimental Balladeers.

Life in the museum's historic village and farmstead continues during Civil War Weekend, demonstrating the work and life of the 1800s in upstate New York. The entire family will enjoy the Empire State Carousel and the Children's Barnyard with its baby sheep, pigs, goats, and other animals. You can also visit the exhibition Farming's New Era: From Field to Table in New York State.

Admission to Civil War Weekend included with paid museum admission.
